Changelog
What has changed in Image Compressor, newest first. Only things you could notice.
Size-target pages, a TinyPNG comparison, and a light theme
New pages for compressing to a specific size (100 KB, 50 KB, and 20 KB), a page for reducing image size in KB or MB, and an honest side-by-side with TinyPNG that includes the cases where TinyPNG is the better choice. The site now has a proper light theme with a toggle in the nav, rather than following your operating system with no way to overrule it. Fixed a layout shift where the page moved under you while a font loaded.
Billing, share previews, and a share image that is not a 404
Checkout and plan changes now work end to end on the live site. Links shared to Slack, X, and LinkedIn show a real preview image instead of a blank box.
Live on imagecompressor.tools
The tool moved to its own domain, over HTTPS, with the compression running on a dedicated worker so a large batch cannot block anybody else's upload.
A faster page, and a real accessibility pass
The homepage lost 51 KB of JavaScript it was loading on every page for a single navigation chip. Contrast, keyboard focus, and the file input's accessible name were all fixed. The tool itself is unchanged: it was already the fast part.
Accounts, API keys, and a usage dashboard
Sign in, see what you have used this month, and create an API key for the REST endpoint. The free tool still works without an account, and always will.
